SEC: Alabama did not look good at all in a 31-6 win over Colorado State. Before you think I’m getting too picky, let me point out that this was 17-6 in the fourth quarter, and still a game. And the Tide only rushed for 66 yards. It makes you wonder how long the problems on the ‘Bama offensive line will persist, and just how bad the Texas A&M defense must be, that they couldn’t stop Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon, but Colorado State could.

Florida didn’t look especially good in a 31-17 win over Tennessee, made possible by the Vols’ six turnovers. The media reports were about the injury to Gator quarterback Jeff Driskell, but while not wanting to sound callous to the kid’s foot injury, I’m not sure that this affects Florida’s football fortunes all that much. They just don’t do much throwing the ball anyway and it might turn out the insertion of Tyler Murphy will end up helping.

LSU looked good in its not-as-close-as it sounds 35-21 win over Auburn, getting 183 yards on the ground from Jeremy Hill, and Texas A&M didn’t have a post-Alabama hangover in blowing out SMU 42-13.

Even if you cede Alabama the SEC West title—and in spite of my doubts I have—the joust between LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss promises to be good and might have a BCS at-large bid at stake, though I still have South Carolina getting the extra slot in the major bowls out of this league.
